Beron Beron echoed the sigh as Gareth replied with an answer Beron had assumed would be the truth. "Unfortunately," he rumbled, "the healing craft is one that is difficult to practice without having the suffering laid bare before you. This is particularly true for those learning to heal without the use of the One Power. Most healers spend time in an apprenticeship, learning what they can by the teaching of their master but also being present to learn firsthand when there are patients to be seen.

"You can study and learn a great deal from reading books, or talking to those who know, but the true test of that knowledge always comes down to the patient." Gareth gestured around the infirmary. "Spending time here is a good place to start, however. If the Yellows know that you are here to learn, and they know now because you have spoken to me, then you may get the opportunity for a little...informal apprenticing."

“Thank you for all you help today Gareth. It means a lot that an Ashaman would take the time. I know you have a lot of demands, and even this brief taste gave me an idea of the chaos and work involved,” Beron replied thankfully as he moved out of the way of a dashing Novice.

“I will speak with Rihanna Gaidin about the informal apprenticeship you mentioned. Luckily if she is your spouse there will be little trouble convincing her of the value in medical knowledge. And it sounds like I am bound to get aquatinted with the scrolls and such of the Library,” Beron chuckled as he realized there would be an immense collection of such items at the Grey Tower.

“As for the harm, I suppose it is as we mentioned earlier. Much like a soldier, it seems to me that the Healers and Yellow Ajah prepare for a day they hope will not arrive but know will likely occur,” Beron mused as he watched the focused activity around him.

OOC: Thank you so much for Gareth. Was a great intro post into Healer. Going to stop it here as I have some other ideas bouncing in my head now. But will definitely have to steal the mountain of a Yellow again!

OOC: This was a lot of fun! I like exploring this side of Gareth, and a non-channeling student is an interesting angle. :D So, thank you to you too! You say the word, and Gareth (or any of my characters, truthfully) are available to you!
