Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

The Curious Aiel (Attn: Elyssa)

Zarayne
Water flooded over the walls of the Grey Tower, cascading down a rock formation, and entered the lake in a flurry of white spray and mist. Zarayne stared up at the waterfall with open confusion. Her mind wasn't preoccupied by the quantities of free flowing water, which may have startled some of her countrymen. Shienar had water aplenty, albeit mostly in a frozen form. Her befuddlement lay in where the water came from. The waterfall was set into the ramparts that encircled the Grey Tower and its grounds, and beyond that lay either grassland or the city of Hama Valon. There was no comprehensible origin to all of this water.

The lack of understanding drew her in.

Zarayne left her off-white slippers by the lakeside as she stepped into the water. Far warmer than she was used to, she waded in knee-deep, toes curling around the sand and silt beneath her. For a short while, her dress floated on the surface of the lake, before it submerged beneath. The added weight from the drenched fabric only increased as she waded further towards the waterfall.

She coughed from the unfamiliar humidity kicked up by the waterfall's spray. The novice stood before the natural cliff face, just short of the furious white waters. She could feel the power of the cascade pressing at her thighs. She'd never been in a body of water for so long before -- mostly because she would have been freezing from exposure back in the north -- and the power of it was new. Curiosity started to slip away as she recognised the folly of trying to climb up the rock face against such a flow of the water, especially saying she would have to be submerged in it. She stood with the water kicking around her thighs for a few more moments, levelling a hard stare at the puzzle that would go unanswered.

She turned back to the shoreline. Her eyes quickly fell upon a fellow novice, who seemed as bemused in the waterfall as she did. Zarayne pushed hard against the water and added weight from her sodden dress towards the flame red girl, ignoring how the fabric started to cling to her legs as she clambered out.

Looking into the girl's wide blue eyes, Zarayne felt the need to explain herself. "The water has no natural source."
