Ravak
Lying on the floor had given Ravak a little time to think. He was drunk. Flaming bloody drunk, and had just enough reasoning to know that he should find somewhere to sleep before something bad happened. Sod that. He heard the remark about running away to the Tower, and he kicked off again. He charged into the crowd, fists flailing madly. There were strikes back in retort, most landing without any resistance. The Shienaran's head swam, the room lurched from side to side, and everything was a blur. His fists felt like another man's hands as they cracked against jaw and face and chest. The hits he received were also another man's pains, as if he was protected by the ko'di. Rav bellowed with a guttural roar that quickly descended into a mournful wail. He struck out again and again, until something or someone impacted against the back of his neck, and he collapsed in a heap on the ground.
When consciousness returned, he was no longer flat on his face. Something wet stuck to his chin and beard, and a foul taste coated his mouth. Without opening his eyes he reached up with limbs that seemed very too light to be his own, and peeled away pieces of regurgitated food from his face. He got out a single chuckle before wincing in acute pain from everywhere. At least I can't smell my own vomit. A silver lining in a very, very dark cloud.

After a few minutes of experimenting what parts of him hurt (almost everything) and what parts didn't (far too little), he opened his eyes. The Tower Infirmary surrounded him, the lighting blessedly subdued. Still night. He had no clue how long it had been since... the Band of Brothers? Did I really choose that place to drown in sorrow? He had to be a little better if he could judge himself for his choice in establishment, but the Gaidin still felt like he'd been through the survival test again, all ten days of it.

"Dax?" he called out meekly. "You around?" Rav lay limply, waiting for the sound of approaching footsteps, but none came. He closed his eyes again, trying to bury his shame at his performance tonight, and his sharp loss over Kaia. Neither came, but sleep slowly did.
