She wouldn't deny that learning that sort of Healing, in fact any sort of Healing appealed to her greatly but she was also not about to suggest herself in some way. Betrys wasn't that bold and she was definitely not that forward in her approach to things, perhaps that would change overtime and perhaps not, though it did seem likely given the training she was receiving from the Tower in respect of her character and manner. After all, Aes Sedai were all confident women...eventually Betrys would fulfill that role herself, eventually.

It was a long time in the future though and Betrys didn't think about it very often "What is yer canna do that?" she asked, sounding worried or nervous, perhaps even a blend of the two but she did want to know if there was an alternative, after all she had no idea what her skills would end up being and finding her dream die would be bad enough now without ending up committing time and real effort into it.

He glanced at her curiously. "Do you mean what do you do if you are unable to use the One Power to Heal a mind?" Gareth liked to be sure that when he answered a question, it was the right question and the right answer.

She paused and considered what she had said as well as why he was asking. Betrys knew that sometimes her mind wandered off and tended to have her mouth speaking without asking thinking about the whole process properly through "Yes. If yer wished tae become one of the Yellow Ajah but found yer lacked the ability tae heal a mind...tae use the mind delving skill - what would happen?" she asked, using some of the skills learned in Appearances to make her accent was softened enough that it shouldn't be as much of a problem as it often turned out to be when she wasn't thinking or became emotional.

Now that he was sure he had understood his question, he felt better sure to answer it. While many an Aes Sedai and Asha'man might believe that everything they said was right, he was not one of such. Perhaps it was simply his nature, or perhaps it was understanding the complexity and delicacy of being a Healer... He couldn't say. All he was sure of was that he liked to be sure. His answers needed to be fully factual, confident and understood.

"Many Yellows have no been able to Heal the mind with the One Power," Gareth said. "It is not a skill that everyone is able to achieve, even Yellows and healers. Being a Yellow is about far more than just One Power Healing. That is an important part of it, but you also need skills in triage and the understanding of wounds and their severity; first aid for when the One Power is not usable; herbcraft. You can aid the healing of the mind by manners other than the Power."

"I's glad tae hear that..." she murmured "I's like tae learn about Healing and such but I's not sure what I'll be doing or nae once I's git that proper understanding of One Power" Betrys admitted, turning to him and offered him the completed tonic. As in the herbcraft lessons she had put on the name of the one she'd made in her clear, if simple hand.

Betrys waited for him to take it before she'd return to making another one.

Gareth took the bowl from her, checking over her work and nodding with approval. He set it aside so that he might finish his own, but also directing her as to the next one. She did seem to have a good eye for the herbs, and that was not something that everyone could do. Time would tell, but it would be interesting to him to see if the Yellow was creating a new aspirant in this young woman...
