What classes would you like to see taught?

Post by Sunny » October 26th, 2014, 5:35 am

I want to expand the selection of available classes, but I'd like to do something that is beneficial to as many as possible. So....what classes would you like to take? What Talents, Benefits, or Weapon Skills do you need most?

You're welcome to look through the old class archive (link) for ideas.

I asked this on the old site but we were a bit slower and didn't have so many newcomers, so I didn't get much of a response. ;)

This is such a great question! There are so many classes I'd love for Rhyka to take... I would be most interested in illusion, Daes Dae'mar, battle weaves, and dreamwalking. A class on Ajahs would also be wonderful!

I know the Yards are a little sparse at the moment but a class in Quarterstaff techniques or polearm techniques would help Bree alot. Also I thought it might be interesting to see a lecture or class on how warders and channelers work together. Something about how they combine channeling and physical combat and maybe how they handle subterfuge together, how they use the bond to work together in situations where they can't just talk it out. Oh and a general class on alternate weapons such as what is appropriate for a primarily archer as a secondary weapon or for a swordsman or a staffman. I have been giving alot of thought to what type of secondary weapon Bree should have.

Yay! I'm so happy to have ideas. <3

Keep an eye out- I'm hoping to pop at least one class out this week, and it may end up being two or more if I'm particularly inspired. ;)

A note about Daes Dae'mar

]Such a subject may also be learned from learning "word Manipulation, which was a popular course in the old site and may eventually return. Another class that helps build the foundations for that subject is the appearances class, which i believe our Master of Soldiers teachers here. http://www.grey-tower.net/Board/viewforum.php?f=48

I would be interested in a class on training with a war horse or training a horse for combat. Peach feels left out. :p

There's a couple of Mounted Combat classes in the old archive, but none on Warhorse I think. I'll look again later. And I'll probably transfer one of the old mounted combat classes, or get a rewritten one up soon.

What about a basic survival class? Prioritizing survival needs, food, water, shelter, building a fire, first aid etc... How to accomplish each in various terrain; snow, rain, desert, plains etc. I am sure there must be something along those lines in the archives somewhere but if not, I think a short class would benefit many people who OOC maybe don't get the opportunity to really experience the wild.

I'm in the process of writing a mostly OOC "introductory" class that should help newcomers find their way around the site.

Once I'm done with that I'll grab another one from this thread to work on! So far my short list includes:

Warder / Channeler Relations
Survival (Unless someone else grabs it.)
Illusion

I can't promise I'll get all three up, but I'll do my best. :)

Survival might be interesting to pick up. Conor's "what not to do!".. >.>

But i think people want to live, not avoid ways to die horribly..
