Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

“When you explain it like that, Leala Accepted, well, I hadn’t looked at it that way before,” Prewtez hoped he sounded as sincere as he felt, “I suppose those years in the cavalry caused my thinking to narrow too much. The typical soldier tends to look down on those who do not actually take up arms, and I admit I may have fallen into that as well.”

He stopped for a moment as he considered what she had explained. Of course it made perfect sense when put to him in such a matter of fact fashion. Even in the military there were those who did the planning, set the strategy, took care of the logistics.

“I do hope you don’t think I was in any way belittling Ajahs such as the white or grey. I confess to having very little knowledge about Ajahs or anything to do with Aes Sedai, actually. I assume that my training in the Warder Yard will soon correct that, though I seem to currently be spending most of my time working in the stables or practicing with the sword. Not that I’m complaining, mind you,” he assured her, “Horses and blades are both rather dear to my heart. But truth to tell, you are the first channeler I’ve had a conversation with!”

Leala widened her smile to be a bit more friendly. This Drin'far'ji had definitely run afoul of someone else in one of the Towers. Again, she shook her head, to indicate that she took no offense at his words. "That is perfectly understandable, and that's why I took the time to explain it. The missions of the Ajahs are not always apparent to everyone as soon as they arrive, and especially if their training is not concentrated in channeling. I am glad that you took my words to heart, however, and did not think them baseless, because I am not an Aes Sedai," she added with a small chuckle. There are many that would assume that since I haven't any experience in being an Aes Sedai, my words as an Accepted would not count. And, while there are some members of the White Ajah that do hold to the notion that they should not leave the Tower, there are the exceptions that actively seek truth out in the world, and with other Ajahs." She had not been doing nothing over the past sixteen years. Observation is the key to deduction, after all.

“I hope you will take this as the compliment it is intended to be,” Prewtez returned her smile, “While I have not had great experience with Aes Sedai, we did usually have a couple in our camp to provided healing for those wounded in combat. However, I must confess that most men I’ve known tend to feel uncomfortable in their presence. While it is known that an Aes Sedai cannot lie, they are expert at manipulating the truth for ends of their own, or so many believe. I say this not as a criticism, Leala Accepted, but rather to express my trust that what you say is true. The word of an Accepted is good enough for this humble Drin.”

He paused for a moment, looking a bit sheepish. Light! He hoped she didn’t take that the wrong way!

“One reason I came to the Tower was that I understand how important the Aes Sedai will be in the upcoming crisis. I hope to serve as best I am able.” One reason among many, but he was not going to go into the others. No need to turn a pleasant conversation towards a more depressing end.

Leala wasn't exactly sure where Prewtez was headed when he began by hoping that she understood his intentions. Honestly, though, what he said was not uncommon. Many people distrusted Aes Sedai and Asha'man because of the Three Oaths and the influence they wielded in the world along with them. Nobility had a similar reputation of twisting and tweaking words to sound favorable for their own purposes. She wasn't exactly sure how that was supposed to compliment her, but he rounded out the statement by saying that he trusted her word as true. His sentiments on Aes Sedai's role in the coming battle gave her a feeling of acceptance. It was no secret in the Grey Tower that the general populace saw their kind as untrustworthy, even some Warders felt this way.

"Thank you for that, Drin'far'ji Prewtez. I was feeling rather not myself after my last lesson. I suppose I needed a reminder of what it is the Grey Tower represents, and what it is we will be contributing to the world when the Last Battle comes. It is rather humbling to be a part of it, no matter what role one plays. I think you will be a capable Gaidin and provide great insight and support to whomever you decide to bond, Prewtez. Not many people can see the way things are from the angle you've just described. I'm glad to have met you here today."

“And my thanks to you, Leala Accepted. You’ve helped me see those who can channel in a very different light. True, my experience since coming to the Tower has been limited to my superiors, my sparring partners, and those with whom I muck stalls, but you’ve helped dispel some of the prejudice in my mind that most have of Aes Sedai.” Prewtez replied, then added with a wink and a smile, “That is unless Accepted change upon raising.”

Rising from his seat, he gave her a bow, “I’m glad to have helped your mood as you have mine. I appreciate your words of support and can offer the same to you. Good luck with your own raising, I have no doubt you will make an excellent Sister in the White or any other Ajah you might choose. Now I must get to my chores, but perhaps we will meet again. May the Light illumine you.”

OOC: I don't know if she wishes to add a parting comment. Thanks for the thread, it's nice to interact with others here! :)
