To Those Graphically Gifted

I'm putting together new avatars & portrait pics for my characters. Durent and the soldiers I intend to have return. I was wondering, any of you that have those spiffy banners in your signatures with the pictures and names of your characters in them... would you be able to walk a graphics-challenged person like me through that process?

I could help. <3 I haven't done up a banner for myself because I'm not sure what I want on it, but I kinda do banner making as part of my living so I should be able to assist!
