Training in Unarmed (Attn: Jain)

Post by Nani » May 11th, 2015, 10:51 pm

Nani was in the yards, shadow boxing with her hands wrapped and fisted as she held her hands up in front of her face. Sweat was slowly pouring from her forehead which was wrapped with a piece of cloth to keep the liquid from her eyes, and she was breathing in and out quickly as she swung her foot out and around, holding her position with her foot at the throat of her student.

During her time shadow boxing she had felt a presence coming up towards her, and that was what prompted her foot to come up to the Drin's throat. Her hands were fisted at her hips as she drew her foot back and lowered it. "Drin'far'ji Jain. You're on time." She said softly, as she wiped her face off with a towel from her belt. "You're reporting for training correct?" The Gaidar kept mopping up her sweat, and she was watching the Drin in front of her.

Jain was walking back from the Tower Gardens to the Warder Yard for a lesson Ubriel Gaidar had setup for him in unarmed fighting techniques. It was with another Gaidar who apparently had some skill and was willing to train the new recruits. Jain wasn't completely helpless when it came to fighting without weaponry but he had never really focused on learning any kind of techniques either. Most of his free time had been consumed with sword training and he did not regret that, but according to Ubriel, unarmed combat was a skill the Drin needed to know so he accepted that as enough of a reason to have some formal training.

He entered the Yards and saw who he believed was the Gaidar the Mistress of Training had spoken of. She was shadow boxing, something akin to what Jain did when he practiced his Sword Forms. He didn't want to scare the woman, not that he thought he could sneak up on her anyway, so he simply walked over to where she was working out. He he got close, she spun around and kicked high towards his neck. "Drin'far'ji Jain. You're on time." She said softly, as she wiped her face off with a towel from her belt. "You're reporting for training correct?"

As the woman continued to wipe her face, Jain looked her evenly and replied, "Yes I am reporting for training. I would guess that makes you Nani Gaidar right?"

Jain stayed where he was and waited for the woman to give him some direction about where she wanted him to go or what she wanted him to do.
