Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

Memoirs or Memories? [[Attn Keiran]]

Maegan Ryanne
She had time to dwell on her options, the Ajah's that she attempted to court were courteous and kind but it was clear to the former Red Aes Sedai that they were not exactly welcoming of her either. Being formerly of the White Tower, the Red Ajah at that and Head of her Ajah, she had a few points to earn with this new Tower and all the inhabitants within. Not that Maegan minded too terribly, given her age it was a gentle kind of courtship that held no pressure to her unlike when she was raised to the Shawl the first time. Then you decided.

This time... there were no tests and while the Ajah's were familiar they were very VERY different then what she was familiar of. The idea of these Ajahs and the forward thinking of the Grey Tower that made her mind wander to old friends and charges with wistful sighs.

For the time being the short, dark haired Cairhien, in her simple white and brown dress and brown hair up in a messy bun, sat in the gardens of the Grey Tower courtyards reading up on some of the histories of the Grey Tower. It was fairly extensive but much of it was still limited to those within the Ajah's. The Ajah she was most curious about, the Indigo Ajah, had a fair amount of available history that Maegan took a liking too. She wasn't entirely sure if it was the Ajah she wanted to pledge the rest of her life to, again, but it was tempting. Her work within the Academy was a testament to her abilities and dedication to the sciences.. but she did not come from the Brown Ajah. She came from the Red Ajah and while she sill felt that draw, the Amyrlin Seat.. Carra...

Maegan wasn't sure if she fit well enough with the idea's of that Ajah and what this new direction meant. It was... what she hoped for but the light had cursed her with years and experiences ... and a mistrust that she felt a hard time overcoming. It was strange but part of her actually wished there was an Ajah that was not filled with men.

Old habits die hard.

So, for now the former Aes Sedai now newly healed sat in the garden on a small bench for two with a fountain before her. The water pitter-pattered as the woman's thoughts wound around ideas and theories, ignoring for a time the people that passed by her. The whispers meaning little and nothing to her while the birds called to her with small smiles and forgone looks.

Ooc:
So, Maegan is kinda unique in a few ways. She is whispered about as a former AS of the White Tower, and a Red.. but she has also been fairly prominent in the academic circles. So, as an Andorian Noble it is highly possible that they crossed paths, even if Mae held a Red Shawl or was just seen with her nose in a book or talking among other scholars. your call. :D

Keiran nursed a ringing ear and tried to blink away the flecks of light burned into his vision. Asha'man Phil's uproarious laughter lingered in his mind. Of late, it seemed as if the Asha'man took on more and more of Keiran's training for the sport and entertainment of it. Despite the failed weaves and their various consequences, Phil had expressed pride in Keiran's abilities so far, though Keiran still felt the pang of embarrassment every time he fumbled a weave.

With a start, Keiran realized he was so deep in thought that he hadn't realized he had missed a turn and made it to the Gardens. With a shrug and a sigh, he decided he could spare a few minutes to breathe in the fresh air and listen to the low drone from the falls. As Keiran approached one of his favorite spots, a bench a span from an intricately carved fountain, he spotted a brown haired woman with a pretty face.

For a moment, Keiran thought to turn away and find a different spot, but something about the woman's face tugged at him. She wasn't someone he had met here at the Tower, he knew that much. Though, when he recognized a face, he was rarely wrong. Keiran had trouble placing her age, as if she were an Aes Sedai, but her face wasn't smooth like one, just young. A quick glance at her finger did not show a glint of gold from a Great Serpent ring.

Keiran made up his mind to interrupt her reading, he had too little interaction with new people lately, something he sorely missed. "Excuse me, my lady?" She wasn't dressed like nobility, her clothing simple and functional, though she carried herself with an internal grace that reminded Keiran of his mother, so he used the honorific anyway. "I couldn't help but notice you seem strikingly familiar, are you from Caemlyn?"

Maegan Ryanne An Old Time, An Old Place "Excuse me, my lady?" ... "I couldn't help but notice you seem strikingly familiar, are you from Caemlyn?"

Maegan looked up to see the young boy, one of common Andoran looks but with eyes that sparked of intelligence. She had seen eyes somewhere, but it was not his. A parent perhaps from her time in the Andorian Court. It must have been a few years since she was last there, surveying and teaching the now Amyrlin Seat while researching some unusual writings from a tome a Brown found and brought back to the White Tower. Unusual writing that Maegan was unable to follow further as so many of her notations and ... life went up in flames. She gave the boy a kind smile, taking in his dress and rank. A Soldier, Dedicated. A male channeller in his youth learning he way through the ranks. It was still strange to see such young boys training with Saidin much like young girls trained in Saidar. It made a part of her crawl, while another part of her fascinated with the entire process.

The Black Tower had been an education in and of itself.

"No, I am not. Cairhien born, but I have spent a great deal of time in Caemlyn and all around Andor. You are... Taravin's boy? You have grown since I last saw you. You and your sister." Maegan patted the bench beside her to welcome him a moment of reprieve. "I am Maegan Ryanne. A Scholar that your father supported for a time." It was odd to not fill in with her Ajah and Rank , but not because she would not offer it freely but that it no longer applied. She was Aes Sedai, and yet she was not. Saidar was once again within her grasp but the lack of Oaths and an Ajah made it feel naked to her, and even a half lie. Carraidhin was firm in that she would reswear the Oaths, but Maegan had asked for time. There were many things she needed to do, and correct, that were easier said and done without the binding of the Oaths on her bones. "How long have you studied here at the Grey Tower. Is it treating you well?"
