Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

Pay No Heed

Maever Donovan It was a pleasantly sunny day and Maever always enjoyed those. They reminded him of hot afternoons at the farm mucking out stables, and the smell of grass as he went to feed the cows in distant fields. He may not have loved his family, but he loved Illian, and hot days were as close to that experience as he was willing to return to.

This particular day saw the man sitting cross-legged on his coat, his shirtsleeves rolled up. He wore a buttery yellow shirt, because so much black on a fellow was dispiriting, and he was currently concentrating on a small booklet he had been given. It was, unsurprisingly, a text on Healing Theory, and although it was quite over Maever's head he enjoyed it nonetheless. He was more of a fellow to act on instinct, go with what weaves felt right, and learned that way. That's what it meant to have a Talent, after all, and this writer... seemed to be trying to put some rules and limitations on the process.

But it was good of them to keep learning! The more they could understand the better they could help people.

He only looked up from his reading when he was joined by a couple of other Yellows, two Aes Sedai he had always gotten along with quite well even before he became an Asha'man. "Fortune favour you both," he said brightly, closing the booklet and setting it down. The two women sat not quite opposite him, making a little triangle, and he gave them both a smile apiece. Ursula Sedai was a thin woman with more grey than brown in her hair, but her skeletal face held a ready smile improved by her narrow eyes, Saldaean tilt and all. Serasa Sedai was Saldaean also, and Maever couldn't help but notice that she didn't smile quite enough.

"Maever, it's good to see you," Ursula said. "We've been hearing all sorts of good things about your work in the Infirmary."

"Oh, I do be sorry-" Maever began to say on instinct. "I mean, oh, well, yes, thank you! But I do just be Healing."

Serasa did smile then, though it was one of patience rather than amusement. "You embody the values of the Yellow Ajah and are a very skilled Healer. We have a proposal and you may need a little bit of time to think about it."

"Oh," Maever put his hands together, "well, ummm, if there do be anything I can do to help then please do be letting me know! I do be more than happy to help."

This was the answer Ursula and Serasa were looking for, and they shared a smile Maever failed to notice.
