I feel like 3/4 of the site is having not-so-great times, or maybe could just use a safe place to share how they're feeling at a given time / random thoughts, etc. We give and receive a lot of support in chat, but not all of us are able to frequent that platform, so I was thinking...why not a thread?

How are you doing today? What's on your mind?

I'm exhausted, strung out, stressed out, and feel like the emotional equivalent of a wrung out towel. That's been the last 6.5 months or so. I'm not a fan. But I'm finally home again and settling back down, so hopefully I'll be back on my feet soon.

Not much on my mind today... I am finding it difficult to engage in anything productive, so am probably going to turn into a human slug for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Commencing transformation!

Ah welp.
Too much stuff to do, and my stomach is still giving me issues. I don't have time to visit the doctor. I feel like there's a rock in it after I eat and I have off and on horrible pain under my belly button. I can't seem to eat anything without feeling sick, but I'm trying.

I am currently on a new clinical rotation. A couple days ago, I watched a woman learn that she had a 90% chance of dying from her disease within three years. That was hard to witness. Today, I saw the sweetest, most inspiring couple. The man had lost the ability to speak and walk, yet the love they had for each other was nearly palpable. He communicated by typing into his iPad and kept cracking jokes.

Life is really such a blessing.

Things are a roller coaster over here! I've been having a pretty difficult time lately, but Friday was truly phenomenal: I presented my research at a conference at Georgia State University. The number of presenters from last year to this year had been cut in half, if not more, so it was truly an honor and a distinction that my poster was selected for presentation. I had an amazing time - so many people were interested in hearing about my work that I talked myself hoarse.

Saturday I went to a Halloween / birthday party and that also rocked. Best part of the night was when my friend was opening her presents. To my horror, she pulled one of these out of a bag that wasn't mine. I ordered her an identical item over a month ago. I laughed so hard I choked, and I was trying to be incognito about it so that I wouldn't ruin the surprise: when she opened mine, she was absolutely delighted, and immediately drew a pink mustache on one of the cats so that she could tell them apart. Sunday was a little rougher, and this week should be interesting as well, but Tuesday night I'll be out of her and on my way to the clinic that will hopefully help get me back on my feet.

My best friend had to put her cat down today. The cat wasn't my cat, but she was my friend for all ten years of her life.

Trying to keep my mind off of it, and be there for my friend. The kitty will be buried tomorrow, so I'll likely be at her house for that.

I'm...super excited about meeting the tattoo artist that's going to apply my tattoo today. I've never gotten a tattoo before, and I've designed this one myself. I hope he has an appointment open for the day that I need!

Let's see. All my clothes are soaked, im cold as heck. Life is horrible in general. It won't get better, ever.
