(This thread is. Well, a bit more open? So yeah if anyone also wants to jump in feel free, it'll just start with Danos and Avyra. c: )

Despite Ravak's, well, warnings, Avyra was on her way to the tree anyway, Danos with her this time. She had a partner in crime, which was odd and slightly refreshing because she'd never had that before. Usually she was just doing everything stupid by herself. She looked around a bit, eyeing her enemy, that tree. It was rather tall, but she figured she couls handle it again. Danos would catch her if she fell. Probably. She gave a nod to him, then started up. Good thing she had worn breaches this time. It was a bit easier not having a dress to obscure legs. The tree itself wasn't hard to climb; it just had a few weak branches, and she remembered from her last ordeal not to touch those. Loosing her balance was not on her list of things to do. She made it up pretty high, not looking down. That would be a mistake. She was probably about thirty feet up and still had more to go. But she hadn't heard a warning call, so that was good. Maybe she could get up and down without trouble. Well, up went nicely. She was nearly at the top now, but couldn't go further due to the thickness of the branches. She paused, then looked down. How was she gonna get down? She couldn't channel that well, and if she did channel someone would know. It was too far to fall, despite Danos' towering height, it was still a good forty feet in the air. She swallowed, looking about before calling out. "So I'm at the top. But. I'm not sure how to get myself down."

Danos

Danos couldn't quite believe it as he was following a very determined Avyra through the Gardens. The Novice was clearly on a mission, not stopping once to enjoy the scenery or the relaxing atmosphere of the Gardens. Light, why did I ever open my mouth. I never actually thought she'd go through with it thought Danos to himself as he remembered the evening meal where the two of them were chuckling over a plan to tweak Master Darrow's nose a little.

Once they arrived at the tree, Avyra wasted no time in clambering up the branches. Danos watched her swiftly ascend the towering tree, glad that the thick branches made for a good canopy. That would not only make climbing easier, but hopefully hide her from view Danos reasoned as he stood off the path and away from prying eyes.

He could make out his friend for most of her ascent, until the branches began to thin, and he was unable to move far enough away to see through the thick layers of branches. But he kept a sharp ear out for trouble, and he knew she would call down to him if anything was amiss.

The wait soon seemed to stretch, and while Danos was waiting patiently, he also began to fret. The Garden's was not as empty and secluded as one might supposed, and he knew that with his size and breadth there was little hope of him making the climb himself. Where in the Light are you Avyra he thought to himself, growing anxious as the stillness betrayed no sound of her descent.

Avyra paused, hearing no reply. Maybe I'm too soft up here. But she didn't want to yell, and she sighed, looking back down at the branches that she came from. She should be able to get down, in theory. But she wasn't technically "in theory;" she was in the Grey Tower. So. Hesitating a bit, she put her foot down on the branch below her. So far so good. Next branch down... then... She slipped, giving a startled squeak as she fell a few more feet, stopping when she hit another bigger branch. The leaves rustled a bit and a bird flew away. Now she was making a commotion. "This is fine," she muttered to herself. "Just keep breathing." She pulled herself up, then slipped again, crying out as she hit another branch. She'd be bruised for days after this. This wasn't going to work. "Danos! I made it! But I can't get down!" She stated this a bit louder. She hadn't seen anyone else around. But she had no idea what to do.

Danos

Danos heard snapping and crashes and he cursed as he struggled in vain to see what was going on in the canopy. He heard Avyra's curses and muttering and then her voice calling out, "Danos! I made it! I can't get down!"

Mother's milk in a cup, thought Danos as he tried to climb, his weight predictably breaking the limbs as he tried to reach her. Now what do we do? thought Danos as he called up as softly as he could, "Jst take it say Avyra, rest your arms and legs for now and lets try to get you down."

Jaryd

When he walked in the Gardens, Jaryd could pretend that he was far from the Grey Tower and the endless games of political intrigue that he both loathed and had grown accustomed to. The paths reminded him of simpler times, when his greatest concern had been whether he would be late for his latest lesson, or which variety of frog to put in an Aes Sedai's bed. Times he had left behind long ago, and yet....still dearly wished he could live again.

On this particular day he heard voices as he approached a certain wooded area. One of them seemed to be female, and coming from above, while the other was male, and closer to ground level. Curious to see what was happening, the Keeper crept forward on silent feet, his gait that of a man used to creeping through shadows and alley ways. As he approached, he heard the female voice again, and then saw a man who rivaled Zeen in height scramble into a tree. Curious.

Shaking and cracking of branches and a shower of leaves followed, along with muttered oaths from the man and exclamations of surprise from the woman. After a moment of listening, Jaryd realized that a woman had climbed the tree and the man had climbed after to help her down. He thought he knew the man, but he had not yet had the pleasure of meeting the woman. Drin'far'ji, or novice? Amused, the Asha'man settled against a neighboring tree to wait. Judging by the noise, it would not be long before they would need his assistance.

Avyra's eyes widened when she heard him fall, and she gritted her teeth. "Just. Don't climb the tree. Just... go get someone? Someone who won't turn me in. So don't go get Mirin Sedai." She really didn't want to fall another ten feet, so she settled down on the branch. It was thick enough to more than hold her weight, luckily, and she paused to consider her options. She could try to jump the rest of the way and just pray that Danos would catch her. That would avoid getting anyone's attention, but too much could go wrong and could land her in the infirmary. Or her grave. She could try to channel herself down with air, but that would draw attention from the sisters, channeling without permission, and she would be punished. That was if she made it to the ground; she didn't think she had the skill enough to get herself down like that.

Danos

Danos paced below the tree until he heard Avyra call out for him to get help.

Danos racked his brain, thinking of the few people he had met around the Tower who might help. Instantly Elia came to mind, and Danos called out "I think I know who might help. Stay there and I'll be right back."

Danos then jogged off towards the women's quarters, not seeing Jaryd in his haste.

Jaryd watched with curious dark eyes as the tall boy -for boy he was, if he was engaged in this kind of adventure- and his unknown female companion called back and forth to one another. It seemed that the man knew someone who could help. And who might that be? the Keeper thought, amusement flowing around the Void he stood within.

Before the Drin'far'ji could get too far, Jaryd channeled. Flows of Air wrapped around the Andoran fighter's body and tugged him back toward the tree with inexorable force, even as more flows climbed into the air, pushing branches aside and creating a path of sight from himself to the woman in the tree. She was very small, and distinctly Cairhienin, and he did not need to see her face to see the panic in her posture as Air wrapped around her waist and lifted her free of the branch she clung to.

He brought her down gently, setting her on the ground with a slight bump next to her erstwhile companion. Whether novice or Drin'far'ji, she did not wear the uniform of her rank, and he cocked his head at her, one eyebrow arched. He himself wore an Altaran vest and breeches in red, the same as he always did, the only sign of his rank being the agelessness of his face. Everyone knew who the wiry Asha'man in red was; he felt no need to introduce himself.

He ignored them for a moment, studying his fingernails as if deep in thought. Finally he looked up, dark eyes sharp. "Are you aware that some of the trees in this grove are quite rare, and it took Ogier and strongly Talented Plant Weavers years of hard labor to ensure they all grew tall and healthy in the face of both blight and terrible weather?" He quirked his lips. "I thought not. Your names, children. Now, if you please."

Danos

Danos was jogging down the trail, when suddenly he was bound. Invisible bands of force wrapped around his body in the space of a heartbeat, and he felt himself being lifted off the ground and brought back towards the tree.

Danos knew it must be a channeler, there being no other explanation for his bonds, and he could tell by flexing that no amount of strength was going to free him. And so he took the time to calm his racing heart, preparing to face whoever had bound him.

When he landed on the ground, he could see the man had also brought Avyra down out of the tree, and he listened to Jaryd Ashaman, the Keeper no less dress him down.

He truthfully had not considered the damage that might occur to the trees, and when the vested man demanded his name, he bowed and stated, "My name is Danos al'Sheen, Drin'far'ji , Master Kosari."
