Ubriel grinned with pride at her win. "Well it is borderlander history, too. I would have thought you would have had a little more familiarity with it. I guess you just don't look up from banging on your rocks very often." She teased him and took the book back.
Turning a bit more serious, she held the medallion in her hand and stared at it as she spoke, "This is supposed to be a coin of Shara. I would think the first thing to do is to try to confirm that it actually is. Books on Shara or trading with Shara particularly might be helpful." She traced her fingers around the outer edge of the circle. Not quite two inches wide at it's diameter, there were markings like writing but in no script she recognized. In the center there was a single clearly defined marking of a sinuous line like a snake pierced through four times with another line like an arrow. One tail of the 'snake' curved back to underline the rest of the body.
"Let's try to find something that shows an image of their coinage or their writing. We might be able to match some of these markings." Ubriel took the medallion from around her neck and handed it to Zacharyn to inspect more closely.

Re: In the Library, with all the books
Ahh metal, now metal Zacharyn could understand and glean from. "Well looking that this, it was definitely a piece of coinage." Zacharyn lays the medallion on the table and points with an oversized pinky finger to areas on the medalli-coin. "If you look at these areas, it's been stamped instead of poured into a mold like a traditional amulet. So whoever made it, place a blank gold mark into a dye and the design was punched into it. That's what caused these stress lines here." Zacharyn pointed at the edge of the medallion. "So yeah...umm... it was actually a gold mark of sorts. Sorry I just reiterated what you said."
Handing the coin back to Bree Zacharyn think for a moment. " I don't think I've really heard anything of Shara aside from the Farstrider stories." He said looking a bit disheartened. "Lets move to the economy and commerce sections and see if we can find anything there."

Re: In the Library, with all the books
Ubriel nodded along as he explained and pointed at the evidence. "Wow. Thank you. That is more factual information than I have ever been able to gather." She looked around. "I wish a Brown sister would just show up and lead us to the right books..."
Sighing and re-fastening the medallion around her neck, she walked with Zack towards the section on commerce and trade. Splitting up they were able to comb the stacks and find three promising titles. Sharan Exports, Shara: The Mysterious East, and Reports of Trade Beyond the Waste.
Returning to their table, they began to go through the pages of the books, carefully scanning prints and sketches for clues. After dismissing one book herself, Ubriel stretched and asked, "Any luck?"

Re: In the Library, with all the books
Pushing one book to the side, Zacharyn sat the one he was reading down on the table and turned it so Ubriel could see. "Shara: The Mysterious East, has a few sketches of some things, and this looks...almost kind of like the writing on your medallion." Zacharyn said as he thumbed back and forth through the pages he had taken note of. I also found it kind of frightening that people who can channel in Shara are kept in their own villages and not allowed to come out... But that's more for me than for you." Zacharyn finished, closing the book and handing it to Ubriel for her own perusing."

Re: In the Library, with all the books
Ubriel flipped the pages of the book to compare the sketches to her medallion. Similar. Very similar. But not a single character seemed to be exact. She closed the books and walked with Zacharyn out of the library. As they reached the point where they would turn to part ways, Ubriel reached out for Zacharyn's hand.
"I appreciate the help. And the company. Sleep well."

Re: In the Library, with all the books
Zacharyn stopped and looked all around him. Not a soul to be found except for him and Ubriel. Embarrassment surged in him at the thought of his next action. "I'm more than happy to help you any time you need me. Just call and I'll be there as soon as I can."
Zacharyn bent at the waist and lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the back of her hand softly. Quite Scandalous if he did say so himself. Blushing profusely he released her hand and turned to walk away... as quickly as his embarrassment would take him.
