Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

Everyone could expect to find injured people, and as such infirmaries weren't strange at all.

"Brewing? Well, right there is something I have absolutely no knowledge of." Seanchan drank alcohol, yes, but not much, and really only the nobility. Since his arrival in the mainland he had heard of "Moonshine," but such a thing was unheard of in Seanchan. In inner Seanchan, at least.

A little cloud passed through his head, a subtle change in his thinking. A far cry from his initial madness, yet it remained. He kicked his S'redit, knocking its head off. He channelled savagely, obliterating the remainder. "Seanchan. They don't deserve to exist. I'll destroy them. My family would be alive, but for the politics. Someone sent them... They had no other reason to attack."

The mood passed. "I'm sorry about that. I have some ill feelings toward the Seanchan. Nevertheless, they do not arise from lack of breweries. It seems that many around here judge by a man's ability to 'hold his drink.' I have no idea whether I can."

Daelar laughed. He was slightly curious as to whether he could, but not sure he wanted to find out.

She hadn't expected such violence in his actions, previously Daelar had seemed...normal and amicable as well. Betrys had actually been enjoying the chance to speak to someone who didn't seem to have the same kind of emotional baggage that seemed to be so common in everyone else that she met lately - clearly she'd been mistaken.

Rather than flinch or pull away, she held herself still and merely watched him "Ain't nae need to afford me apology for being angry, nae sensible person would welcome a people who can make anyone intae an animal and call it...proper" she shook her head. Betrys knew more about them than she had done before coming to the Grey Tower - though that was no great achievement as before that it hadn't really been the subject of her previous education as the world beyond her village hadn't been one that had been at all useful in a brewer's daughter who had a rather limited set of prospects "Though...it be a shame tae have destroyed something so finely made" she pointed out gently.

"If yer wanting a drink, I can go wiv ya into the town. They've pubs there to challenge yer ability tae hold anything" she suggested. Betrys wasn't worried about proving her own capabilities but there was no surprise in that being the case. She was a girl and drinking someone under the table was far more a sport of men.

Yes, the taking of channelers and leashing them. He hadn't thought of that before, really. It had been a way of life. But now, he had met many channelers, and they weren't animals. They certainly didn't deserve to be chained and used as such. Perhaps it was true that they didn't deserve destruction... Though obviously Betrys meant the sculpture, not the culture. Sculptures were easy, though. He could make one any day. A culture, a civilization, on the other hand; that wasn't so easy to make on a whim.

Daelar started when she mentioned going to a tavern. She wanted to go to a tavern? Well, apparently she had grown up with that. Daelar, however, had not. He did not know how he would react to alcohol, he had not had much ever. "I'm not sure. I would not want to embarrass you by association."

That wasn't quite what he was worried about. He was more worried about completely making a fool of himself and estranging her, but that didn't want to be said.

Betrys felt the tension ebbing away from what might have been rather serious; of course that didn't mean it wouldn't come back again. Although perhaps now that initial friction was gone they could avoid it for the future "I really dun think yer need tae worry about it..." she admitted "Last time I was in one, there were bar fight - trust me, I hae more tae be worried about then you do" Betrys wasn't about to explain the exact circumstances of things but it was probably a good thing that she had access to the Infirmary and the supplies therein to assist in the bruised ribs and black eye that had been the result of the last time.

"So...a quiet drink, sounds good" she added.

There were many good memories that Betrys could associate with being in an inn or other such establishment and it might be nice to have a chance at some more. Although that didn't mean he would be the right person to try it with but she was open to making the attempt just the same and now all she needed to do was see how he responded.
OOC: Would you like to wrap this up? We can start a new thread if you'd actually like to go drinking with Betrys, she'd probably enjoy it far too much if I'm honest and she definitely needs to learn to have more fun.

"Well, all right. I suppose it couldn't do much harm."

Daelar was slightly reluctant, but still willing. He had no idea what would happen; most likely he would just have a drink and nothing would come of it. Ordinary things like that didn't seem to stay ordinary for him, though. A simple patrol in the mountains had become a disaster, simple homework had turned into a battle of wits and weaves, though thankfully no harm had come of it. He could hardly be blamed for the disaster in the mountains, though. His accent hadn't caused the attack, which was a first. Many people heard him speak, then decided his face would look better if arranged differently. Naturally, they always insisted that they be the ones who rearranged it.

"I have quite a while until my next lesson. Now would probably be the best time to go."

Well, there was a first time for everything.

While it wasn't perhaps the most enthusiastic reply she'd ever come across it was...a reply and an agreement and that would have to do for the time being. Betrys supposed it wasn't that surprising that he might be reluctant or worried. This was something that he'd never done before and even more surprising it was a girl (well an Accepted) who'd made the offer in the first place.

She didn't exactly see her Sisters out drinking the night away in Hama Valon but Betrys hadn't seen any specific rules against it. Well...none that she was prepared to admit to seeing.

"Alright then! I'll try tae make sure yer nae senseless for it then" she chuckled "Though depending on the class being a wee bit wool-headed might actually help in passing the time" Betrys knew of at least four different cures for drinking excessively and at least one of them worked for her so she wasn't concerned about nursing a bad head tomorrow but she would do her best to make sure that wasn't the case for either of them - that would definitely land them each in particularly hot water and wasn't the sort of experience she wanted from all of this.

She flashed a smile and started down for the town, checking to make sure he was still there. She didn't want to leave him behind after all.
