| His words were very friendly, calm and warm. "Any training is meant to mold you into what you are meant to be, Avyra. And you have time yet. We both do. Perhaps a day will come when I no longer feel the need to run laps in order to straighten my focus. And, perhaps a day will come when you can see yourself becoming the Aes Sedai that you will become, even if little by little. But, until then, you must trust that Mirin Sedai is strict with you for a purpose. I know that the Wise Ones in the Three-Fold Land are harder on those that they feel have potential, and they are much stricter than the Aes Sedai here." Avyra sighed. "I don't know. Its not how hard they are on me; its more like... me. In general. Nobody would take me seriously as an Aes Sedai." She paused. "You're huge; you could command the room without trying. I'm not. Nobody would take me seriously, especially since I still look like I'm ten." She looked away. "They can be strict on me all they want, but they can't make me look pretty. I could be the greatest channeler this Tower has ever seen, which I won't be, and still, nobody would believe me. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be pushing this on you." She didn't look at him. Instead, she studied the ground. |
