What is the focus of the Brown Ajah? The Brown Ajah is focused on knowledge in all its forms. Books are a common source of knowledge, so libraries large and small are often occupied by Browns. There are those who like to study things directly, as well, and those who like to theorize rather than concern themselves with hard facts. The members of the Brown Ajah delight in learning. Many of us are interested in knowledge for the sake of itself no matter what the topic. However, most of us will eventually find a specific topic in which we will become expert, but it's not a requirement to be a Brown. It has been said that the White and Indigo Ajahs are really just specialized branches of the Brown. We welcome friendly debate and lively discussion. Just do not disturb the readers.
Why should I choose the Brown Ajah? You should choose the Brown Ajah if you enjoy learning new things, studying old things and late nights in the library. Many Brown brothers and sisters find themselves spending extended hours in the depths of the stacks of the library. For fun, most Browns read, write, research or debate points of knowledge. Some of our favored snacks are cinnamon cookies and ginger snaps, dark teas and pecan pie with a cup of kaf, or a cup of tea, and warm brownies smothered in caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped cream.
Who are some famous members of the Brown Ajah? Verin Mathwin is the most famous Brown from the Wheel of Time series, but also Brown are Adeleas, Danelle, and Marillin Gemalphin (who was also Black). Indiana Jones and Evelyn Carnahan from The Mummy or Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series are also excellent and famous examples of characters who likely would have chosen the Brown. In the Grey Tower, one of our most famous Browns of the past was Elan Morin Tedronai.
