At the top of any thread, you will find the button with a wrench. If you click it, the top option of the drop down menu is 'subscribe'. I do this with all of my threads so that when there is an update, I get an email so I don't need a poke. If you want to do that, it can be helpful.

You can also set this up in the User Control Panel, so you automatically get a notification to your posts. It's under "Board Preferences" and "Edit posting defaults": Notify me upon replies by default
