Align the Spears (Attn: Locke)

Jhanic hated making appointments after the sun had gone down. However, the blacksmith he had hired to make a pair of spears kept changing the date and the time, so the Master of Soldiers had had to accommodate his schedule accordingly. He had met a fellow Aiel perhaps a month ago, and found out that he had had his spears taken from him when he had first arrived in Hama Valon. Terric of the Salt Flats sept of the Nakai Aiel had proven himself worthy enough to achieve the rank of Ji'val, and had committed himself to the Grey Tower, like Jhanic had. He had not had the time to get to know the other man extremely well, but an Aiel warrior without his spears was just...not right. The Master of Soldiers himself had felt that absence, the need to hold his weapons, for the years that he was a soldier himself.
A man of the spear, who wished to protect Aes Sedai and Asha'man, who had chosen this strange life, deserved to have his own spears. The Asha'man to give him his spears also had the knowledge and skills to make them stronger. Jhanic knew the weaves for Aligning the Matrix, the weave that had prompted his enrollment in the Grey Tower.
He had asked Terric and the blacksmith, an Andoran man named Salin, to meet him in the Grey Tower's forges. He had informed the guards of the blacksmith's business with him, so entry into the Tower should not be an issue for the man. As Jhanic walked the Tower Grounds toward his destination, he kept his lope, but slowed it a bit. Some attentive soldiers could tell his business, or lack there of, just by his gait. There weren't very many of his charges wandering about without a task, this time of the evening. Still, some men hailed him as he walked by, and he responded in kind.
As he neared the forges, he spotted another man in cadin'sor. Jhanic smiled. "I see you, Terric of the Warder Yards and the Aethan Dor." He had not told the other man exactly what he had in mind. He had mentioned a few times that the Ji'val should have his own spears, but his intentions of buying a pair for him and enhancing them with the One Power were left out, something to be discussed when the occasion arose.
((OOC: This is a redux of another thread by the same title, with a little tweaking for time and context.))
