From the North

It's no secret that the best things in life come from the north. The Scots. The Canadians. The Norwegians and Swedes and Finnish. Much better than those southerners. (I jest, I jest, don't kill me please.)

The same is true in the Wheel of Time as it is in real life. Arafel is a proud nation, a bulwark against the Shadow and the Blight. A proud people too. Was it pride that lead a young man away from his family's farm to become a Gaidin of the Grey Tower, instead of living an honest life as a farmer? Who knows? Did that same pride or lack thereof mean that his sister was to follow suit a year afterwards? Again, who knows? But now the Warder Yards does have its latest recruit: a young girl from Arafel, ready to make a mark on the world.

I would like to welcome Sigrid Kavaroy to the Warder Yards, and her writer Sam to the Grey Tower. May there be many merry adventures ahead for this Borderlander.

Thanks, all of you! I used to write at the old Grey Tower site, until I had to leave because of RL stuff. I'm looking forward to writing again and meeting everyone. :sword

Nani: I might take you up on your offer, Sigrid would like to meet someone from home, I think.

Welcome! The Amyrlin Seat is proudly Saldean, and her last husband was Arafellan. (Thus her son is half so!) And all very proud of being Borderlanders. :) Glad to see another!
