I just really want to write)
Avyra
| Avyra paused, ink over paper in hesitation. She was using a small candle to write by; it was late and she happened to share a room. Seonin was asleep, however, and she didn't think she was disturbing her in her slumber. She hadn't written home, and since she had been here a few days, she finally decided to check on her family, who probably missed her very much. She knew she missed them all. Dearest Mother,
She began, finally putting her thoughts on the paper.I, unfortunately, cannot come visit while still a Novice like a promised. Mirin Sedai said I could, possibly, make the trip once I'm an Accepted, however. How is everything back home? I hope that Skyie is doing fine without her older sister, and I hope the two boys haven't gotten into too much trouble.
She paused, deciding to move on.My classes are going okay. My time here is actually great. I have a roommate, actually. Her name is Seonin and she's from Seanchan. I like her a lot; she's a bit shy but we get along well.
She paused, debating leaving the letter there or going into more details about her shenanigans. Oh, what the heck. Not like she can punish me.The One Power is a bit challenging to manipulate. Torianin, one of the Accepted here, has been teaching me all my basics. Appearently I'm pretty strong in Fire and Air, but I'm not too bad in Spirit either. I need to work on my Water, and I haven't really tried out Earth yet. But Torianin is very patient and kind; I really like learning from her. I actually haven't talked to any full sisters save for Mirin Sedai, the Mistress of Novices. She's pretty nice. I've been spending a lot of my time in the gardens, actually. The trees are fun to climb; they're so big. But I fell out of one, actually. That's how I met the Master of Training, Ravak Darrow Gaidin. He actually caught me. Didn't report me, luckily, and he even gave me some tips for how I should act in the Tower. Which meant not climbing trees, sadly.
She paused, figuring out a way to finish up her letter.I also met Danos, one of the Drin'far'ji. Everyone here is quite a bit taller than myself, but Danos is huge. I don't think he'd be able to walk into the front door of our shop without hitting his head on the top of the doorframe. We've actually been doing some unarmed combat training together. I'm a bit bruised up; I haven't worked at all in my life, but don't be too nervous. Danos is actually really sweet and I don't think he'd ever hurt me on purpose. I look forward to meeting more people here at the Tower. There are so many different people here that its overwelming, but very, very refreshing. But if a problem does arise, know that I am in good hands here with the Tower. I cannot decide where I might end up, however. With what Ajah I would choose. I like both the Blue and the Green, but I want to consider all of them before I pick. Its way too early for that, however, and ironically it is very late now, and I don't want to wake Seonin with my scratching at the paper with ink. I hope to hear from you soon.
She paused, then put out the candle. She would mail her letter tomorrow. With love, Avyra |
