Something Special

With the blessing of my fellow triumvirate, I am giving out a special award. This is a one-time matter and is outside the regular award system.
A Tower Refuge
This award is a one-time award, given to all active members as of January 2016, granted personally by the Amyrlin Seat at that time--Bella, writing for Miahala Sedai--for the following reason:
I joined the Grey Tower in June of 1999, and I was recruited by Toby, a Tower founder. I was a member "Pre-Breaking," and I have written for Mia the entire time I've been a part of this place. Over the years, I have faded in and out, and was away for four years after the birth of my son, but the Tower has always been a part of me. At the time I left, I had been writing here for eleven years, and now I'm back and stronger than ever.
This place is where I met my husband. This place is where I learned to be a writer, to be an administrator, and have experiences that would shape me into the person I am now. As much as I am a part of the Tower, this place is a part of me--the people I have known and the environment it created for me to grow up in, in many ways.
Everywhere I look now at the GT3, I see pieces of myself and things that I helped build, helped create, and influenced. This place is like a home to me, a home for my words and where I can find refuge and friends. My return this year has shown me just what this place has been and is to me, and as I am presently in a position to do so, I would like to offer this as my "thank you" to everyone who is a part of this place now.
I hope that I can continue to make this a place where others can find in it what I have.

*hugs* This is an example of what always brings me back to the Tower if I'm away for a time. It feels like home to me.
