Greetings, and Well Met!

Greetings all,

I've been eagerly waiting for my forum account to get approved since this morning, and now I find myself a little lost for words. As this is both a place for the Wheel of Time and for roleplaying, I figure I'll tackle each strand separately.

I first got turned onto the Wheel of Time by a friend at school, roughly when I was fourteen or fifteen. I read through the first eight or nine books before losing interest, or losing track of the plot. Something happened, at least, which meant that I didn't move beyond the prologue of Crossroads of Twilight. Since that time, some thirteen odd years back, I've kept a passing interest in the series, but only in the last few months have I purchased some of the audiobooks, and started once more with the series. I'm currently nearing the end of The Dragon Reborn. I'm half aware of the forthcoming plot, but I seem to have forgotten at least half of the novels. That is fortunately keeping me grounded, and my mind isn't racing ahead to what the characters will be doing in novels to come.

As for roleplaying, I must have started that before I encountered the Wheel of Time. I was active for a number of years in forum-based roleplaying games. This also included a stint with another Wheel of Time forum-based RP, whose name I believe was "the White Tower", but who's to recall? During my undergraduate years at University, I held multiple positions at the roleplaying society. The core group of roleplayers are my core group of friends, including my wife. I'm not playing in any online or offline groups at the moment. Well, until now.

At some point, my member page will appear with personal information, but for the now I can say that I'm a computer science PhD student in Edinburgh. I'm Scottish born and bred, and my family has been for various generations, until you encounter some French sheep rustlers and the Vikings a long way back. If the words "Magic: the Gathering" mean anything to anyone, then that's an ongoing passion of mine. As befitting a computer scientist, I'm also deeply into various computer games, especially if it was created by Blizzard Entertainment.

If / when my character eventually manifests / is approved, I'll be trying my hand at a drin'far'ji. Assuming things go well, I'm sure a few more characters will come once I've met both this place's and my own requirements.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. In real life, I may be a socially awkward penguin, but the Internet affords me enough of a buffer to keep me chipper.

Hey Craig!

I play Dax, a Ji'alantin with quite a personality; Jaryd who is a Red Asha'man and also has quite a personality; and Sinead, who is an Aiel novice and would love to kick someone's ass if she could just get past the idea that fighting in white is horrible. ;)

If you'd like to play once your character is approved, feel free to hit me up. :)

Email received, and no fears about waking up; it's getting close to midnight here.

I seem unable to make my entlistment interview post. I'm guessing as a Petitioner, I don't have the rights to make new topics outwith the Petitioner's Courtyard?

Edit: All fixed now!
