Avyra couldn't help but laugh at that one. "My apology? It almost didn't exist, actually." She actually didn't recall apologizing. "He did chastise me a bit, but not for smarting off. He said I'd ruin my dress." Avyra, too, chatted with the cooks a bit. She treated them well, better than most of the Aes Sedai did. But she didn't feel any more above them, just like she secretly didn't feel like the Aes Sedai were far above her. She respected them, but after they respected her. It had driven a few of them mad, but she hadn't been directly rude so she hadn't been punished yet. The far smaller Novice didn't seem to eat very much; she hadn't even gotten half of what Danos had. At his question, she looked at her plate. "The tree... ah. Was too tall. It was taunting me. So I wasn't about to let it win. It was an honest challenge, and I met it head on."

Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

Danos
Danos chuckled as he ate his mouthful. The food was delicious, and he was famished.
Avyra reminded him of a few girls he had known back in Jornhill. And one in particular. Aelwyth had been fearless as well, always diving first into the argent river, never looking twice. "Seems like that tree had it coming then. And with that tenacity I feel sorry for your sparring partner," said Danos admiringly.

Avyra ate her own food slowly, taking small bites of it. But it was very good. The food here was better than her family's cooking back in Cairhien. None of her family actually knew how to cook, herself included. "Oh, I lost. I fell out, remember? Nearly broke my neck." She laughed, taking another small bite. "It was foolish to try. Ravak Gaidin told me not to do it anymore." She paused. "So I'm going to try it again. I'm going to get to the top of that tree."

Danos
Danos could well imagine the fiery Novice in front of him wouldn't let a fall impede her, or a chance encounter with the Master of Training stop her. Danos couldn't decide if that was brave, foolhardy or just plain being a stubborn woolhead. But he knew he liked Avyra and her direct approach. She seemed less reserved than many of the others he had encountered, and he wondered how that would fare over the course of stealing.
"Well next time, you should at least let me keep a watch on the trail. I don't know many, but I can do a passable warbler call. Could at least warn you. And depending on how tall this tree was, could give a steadying hand or catch if it was needed," said Danos pushing his empty plate away from his elbows, and relaxing amidst the drone of the conversations in the Hall.

(Oh no I just had a plot thought
Avyra climbs the tree, Danos is supervising. She does good until she realises. She made a mistake. How she gonna get down. She stuck. And he can't follow her because the branches will break. So they gotta go get a channeler to get her down because she can't channel on her own.
Bonus points if its the mistress of novices
Double bonus if ravak comes over to see the problem)

Avyra laughed. "If I'm up in a tree, I doubt there'll be time for me to hide whenever someone comes walking by." She shrugged. "I bet Ravak Gaidin is still watching the trees like a hawk. Making sure I stay out. Or don't fall out again." She, however, raised an eyebrow at his offer, then smiled. "Thank you. I'll be sure to let you know when I plan to climb again." Not if, it was a when. Nothing was going to stop her. "And when, might I ask, would be a good time to catch you in the Warder's Yards for the training we discussed? I am mostly interested in unarmed fighting, because I doubt I'm strong enough to lift a sword or pull back a bow."

Danos
Danos chuckled as he imagined Master Darrow strolling through the Garden, his eyes wide and roaming the canopy, "Agreed, you probably better let a few others get in trouble with the Master. Then he won't be searching the trees every sunny afternoon."
"As for lessons, usually I have free time after chores and before Low. When you have time free up, you can let me know. I am in the Yard usually anytime I do not have class. So please come by, and I will see what help I can give," said Danos as he considered where he might begin with a student.
"Unarmed would be all I would attempt to teach as well. I've barely begun sword forms myself, and have never drawn a bow," admitted Danos, deciding her honest interest deserved frank discussion of his skill.

"Well, you're new, and you have time to learn those skills. I'm pretty limited to what I can do based on my reach and strength," Avyra replied, finishing up her plate. Everything tasted wonderful at the Tower, and another meal reminded her, again, that she needed to make something for the cooks who made it all happen. "Now," she said, standing. "I wonder what would happen if I tried to ambush Ravak Gaidin from the trees. That might be worth testing out, actually." Now that might have been one of her worst ideas, but that didn't mean she was against doing it.

Danos
" I think you would soon find yourself at the mercy of blade or swordbreaker. Needless to say that the image of you flying out of the trees like a rabid squirrel would probably do little to impress your teachers. Still, it would be a sight," said Danos with a good natured laugh.
Seeing several of the tables turn at his abrupt interruption of the quiet murmur of the Mess Hall, he wiped his mouth and finished in a voice more akin to a whisper, "I think you will find a few willing allies, should you choose a less daring prank Avyra. And though I have to return to my dormitory, please feel free to call on me at the Warder Yards. Talking with you has brought a chance to laugh and pretend we are youths of my home up to no good."
Danos then got up, heading to the Warder dormitory, his body tired and sore from the days hard work, but his heart light and full of laughter.
OOC: Couldn't think of much else for this thread. Definitely post up a spar or practice if you want, and forgot to mention last post, but the idea of you getting stuck in a tree, hilarious. Especially if like you said we have to get a channeler or Tower Leader to help rescue Avyra.Seeing several of the tables turn at his abrupt interruption of the quiet murmur of the Mess Hall, he wiped his mouth and finished in a voice more akin to a whisper, "I think you will find a few willing allies, should you choose a less daring prank Avyra. (I'll post the spar when I get home.
And should I post the tree post, too, do you think?)

Re: Noteworthy [attn; Damien]
Definitely. Sounds like a good idea.
