With warmth in her own smile, she nudged him companionably with her shoulder. "No apologies," she said. "When you meet with a friend, you discuss what is taking place in their life and their minds. It will not always be cheerful, and that is alright, since a true friend is not one just there in fair weather."
By now, however, they finally reached the city and she led the way to an eatery that had quickly become her favorite in Hama Valon. For one, it was not attached to an inn, and she liked that aspect. Many of its tables were set upon an outside patio as well, which when the weather was fine--like it was tonight--made for a lovely atmosphere.
"I do hope that my sudden demands for your company did not cause any issues, though," she added, sincere in that although without apology for having done so.
