Taesh shook his head as he listened to his friend. "I thought of that as well. I thought if I focused on my father, I could find where the ship was. Whatever this is, it doesn't work that way. I can't find people, but I can find places. I know that office intimately. I used to sleep in there, and hide in there. And when I crossed the line too much my father made me grip that desk while he punished me." Taesh had a rueful smile as he remembered his mother's office. The other men and women of the Star Song had a running bet on how long it would take for the young Taesh's hand print to be embedded in the wood, he was so often sent there. Yet still with tears in his eyes he would come out smiling, and in no time have everyone laughing, including his parents.
"But also I know my ship in it's entirety. But calling for an image of it is next to impossible. I tried once, I don't know if it's because of the size of the ship, but I almost fainted I was so exhausted. I think, for now, smaller spaces are what I can do. And you are right, it must be something I am familiar with. When I'm not in my room I can call it up in the mirror easy enough. But the Library? Again, it's too much, too large. I think I need more practice. But I want to make sure, I'm not doing anything too dangerous."
Any degree of channeling came with risk. The risk of an unsuccessful weave that could have dire consequences. The risk of taking too much in and being burnt out. Taesh believed that is why the training of Aes Sedai and Asha'man took so long. But using a Talent with no name and information was doubly so. The Atha'an Miere wanted some sense of security from the Indigo Aiel that continuing to practice and research with this Talent would be ok, and not unduly hazardous to his existence.
