Caddoc’s full lips moved in the barest of smiles, something that was almost a guffaw for him. “Then I suppose I am simply not a good person.” He said, and it did not seem he was trying to make a joke. He sounded serious. “But then again, I would rather be a bad person than a bad Healer.” He heard Jeremiah’s derisive sound from behind him before the fighter spoke. “Emotion is a hindrance. One might become so overwhelmed with one’s emotion that one ceases to rely on skill and instead relies solely on emotion. It is then that one fails as a Healer.” Caddoc gave his own soft snort, and nodded his head.
Garren, for his own part, ignored both of the men as he sat. This was not the first time he had heard Jeremiah speak on such things, and while he didn’t always agree with him, he had learned it best not to argue with him. He had grown, it seemed, use to the oddly serious young man. Caddoc he was less accustomed to, but he remembered his time in the Infirmary with the other, and he certainly remembered how it had gone down. There was a soft rumbling in his throat that he wasn’t aware he was making until he caught the wary look in Caddoc’s green eyes. He quieted as Angel touched him, turning his gaze to her. Giving her a smile, he reached up and took her hand. “I’m fine.” He said, softly kissing her fingers instead. “It’s not much. A few bruises and cuts… I’ve received worse in training sessions with Drin.” He chuckled at this, even as her touch to his cut brow made him wince a little.
Caddoc’s brow shot up, this the first full emotional response he had given since meeting her. He seemed a little tense, suddenly, and his gaze shifted to Jeremiah for a moment, though the other didn’t respond to whatever was in the Dedicated’s gaze. Caddoc looked to Angel again, asking. “And why are you incapable of Healing him without Linking?” he asked warily.

She smiled back at him, and felt her face flush when he kissed her fingers softly. It had been so long since they had been this close to each other. Her fingers intertwined with his and she held them in her lap while her eyebrows rose looking over at Caddoc who's reaction had been a little bit more...negative then she had thought they would be. "I'm sorry, do you see a banded hem around my skirts? Or did you suddenly realize that you can see what I'm weaving and are capable of being a proper supervisor like an Accepted would be?" She asked a little sarcastic with him in her reaction, not something she normally felt, but when she was faced with restrictions for something that she used to be able to do without a second though, she was unbelievably irritated.
"Forgive me Dedicated, having restrictions on when I can channel and when I can't are wearing thin on my sanity. I'm capable of healing him, and quickly, however as I would prefer to not get sent to the farms for channeling without permission or supervision, I believe that our only viable option short of allowing you to heal him instead of me, is to link. It's not like I'm asking to bond you. A link it done and over very quickly. Or so I'm to understand." She said in explanation for her sarcasm. Her hand stayed in Garren's and she felt as peace for the first time since she had dawned her Novice Whites. She couldn't reach Yellow fast enough to stop having to hide their bond. And she didn't want to let Caddoc heal Garren, since he was hers.

“I wouldn’t know.” Caddoc responded, and his tone seemed to have become more flat than usual, if that was even possible. “My experience with Linking is…limited.” His green eyes were more like fetid pools now, watching her almost scathingly. “As for waiting for permission.” He shrugged and sent a discordant tune through his harp with a flick of his fingers, the melody sharp and without beauty. “If you are willing, and able of course, to do as you wish, I do not see why you would allow ‘permission’ to stop you. After all, there are none here that would fly to report your actions….”
He allowed a thin smile to touch his lips, tight and, in its own way sarcastic, as he gazed at the woman. “But if you believe that it is in your best interest to pretend to be a docile little Novice, far be it for me to dissuade you.” He cocked his head to the side, watching her closely as he seized Saidin. The Power flooded him like life itself, color brighter, sounds sharper as he wrestled it into his grasp like a bull on the loose. He inhaled slowly, forcing himself to stay calm, though as always holding the One Power made him feel like an unstoppable force. He had come to understand that was the same for men and women alike. He prepared himself to Link. “Understand.” He said. “That if you abuse my abilities, I will not hesitate to force you to relinquish them…” Garren was tense as he watched Caddoc. For a moment his eyes flickered to Jeremiah who looked back. The other man said nothing, but he did move closer to Caddoc and nodded to Garren, who quieted some and looked to Angel. “The wounds are not that bad, Angel…” he said quietly. “You do not have to risk getting yourself in trouble..”

Angelique scoffed softly at him. "If you honestly think that there aren't people around waiting for a Novice to slip up, you're vastly mistaken. And it doesn't help that I'm a former Keeper's daughter, something I try to keep under wraps, since it doesn't make me any friends, and just gives me more eyes." she replied to him, her own eyes staring at him scathingly back. Softly her body came alive as she felt Saidar flood her. Briefly she knew that this was likely a terrible idea. Even if she was the leader, she knew that there was a good chance that Caddoc could consume the role and she wouldn't have the strength to contest it, it was merely the way of it. Hence why she had suggested it. But regardless, she felt the pair of them link, and her eyes went wide with shock. She wasn't sure what she had been expecting, but the torrent of power that came with Saidan was not what was she was expecting.
Her eyes flickered back to Garren and rested her hands on top of his. "We're not getting in trouble here. I'm merely doing what I should have been able to do already." She replied as she quickly grasped what she needed, and laid the weave over top of her bondmate, and watched his wounds heal. Letting go off the one Power, she sighed in relief. "How do you deal with that raging river all the time?" She asked after the link dissolved, and she leaned back against Garren momentarily, with a small smile on her face, arms wrapped around his as she leaned her head against his shoulder. Angelique sat back up and tilted her upper body towards Caddoc. "Thank you for allowing me to link with you and heal him." She thanked Caddoc, before going back to leaning back against Garren.

Caddoc’s eyes did not flicker with surprise or interest when he found out she was related to someone that had, once upon a time, been in a position of power. He had not known this fact, but neither did he find that he much cared. When he filled himself with the torrent that was Saidin and allowed her to link with him, however, he found something that did cause his interest to quicken. Those green eyes seemed to intensify and focus upon her for the first time since she had first appeared. They seemed to flare, and then to flash as her own widened with shock. He realized then that he had had no clue as to how a woman would react when they had Saidin and his strength within their grasp. How…fascinating.
It was almost with fear that she wove the Powers it took to form the Healing Weave. She did it swiftly, very swiftly, as if loathe to hold it a moment more, and then relinquished his Power back to him. And yet, even with her speed, she had deftly done this simple Healing. He nodded his head softly, as if judging how she had worked, but said nothing about the Weave. Instead he said, looking to Jeremiah, “It takes years and strength to learn to deal with Saidin. It is not for the weak of constitution… Nor for the fairer of our species…” The look he Jeremiah however was heavy with meaning and interest. In the moments the two men stared into each other’s eyes they seemed to speak volumes. Caddoc turned back to Angelique, watching her closely again for any signs of what she had felt before. “Of course.” He said when she thanked him.
