Jaryd Kosari
Jaryd's office had certainly become more welcoming since Kaia had joined him there, but the Keeper of the Archives still took advantage of every opportunity to be elsewhere that he could. On this particular day he had chosen to carry a message to the dove cotes himself, rather than send the soldier who waited outside his door for just such a purpose. His lagging feet carried him back up the stairs after, his thoughts far away.

His mind came sharply back into focus when he felt a surge of interest from Kaia. Jaryd paused, perplexed. For a moment in his mind, he had heard her speak his name. The Altaran picked up his pace with a shake of his head at his fancy. He pushed open the door a moment later, curious what he would find. Kaia sat within, her outward shell cool and collected, but her concentration edged with frustration inside his head. She looked up at him, then her eyes flicked to the side.

Turning, Jayd found himself face to face with two others. Ravak was no stranger, and judging by Kaia's mental state, he was there only as escort. Jaryd's black eyes turned with interest to the woman. There were only two people in or about the Tower with purple eyes: a strange, quiet boy named Shadow, and a Gaidar named Nani. Although he had never personally spoken to the woman, this had to be her.

"Greetings, Nani Gaidar," he said, moving to lean against the front of his desk. "What can I do for you?"
OOC: If you'd like to gloss over explaining it all again, that's fine. :P Jaryd will send the soldier attendant to fetch Calder once he knows what's going on. You're welcome to work that into your post, or I can do it in my next one.

Nani Hatherton
Nani followed Ravak up the stairs to the Keepers Offices. She was quiet as she watched the small exchange between the Keeper of the Chronicles and the Master of Training. Her feet carried her over to the other desk, and sat down in the chair across from it while she waited for Jaryd to appear. She was a bundle of nerves, but she felt the hard knot of emotions from her bond that was Calder and hardened her resolve as she waited. Her hand fisted on her pants, and she took a soft breath in before she let it go to calm herself. Her purple eyes turned up to look at the Keeper she wanted to see, and was met with black eyes gazing back at her. He already knew her name, and she wondered how.

"I..." She started before she glanced over at Ravak, and then took a deep breath. "I have a problem." Once she started it was like the dam broke. The Gaidar told him the whole horrid affair. Jaryd paused her for a moment to talk to the Soldier outside of the door, and once he was back she continued, telling him more about the fact that she had been bonded without her permission. She told him about the ter'angreal that had been destroyed and the fact that she had been involved with the Master of Training at the time. Adding in the fact that she had merely been a Ji'dar at the time they had been involved and that had been an emotional time for her. Her bond drew closer, and she knew what the Soldier had been sent to do.

Calder entered the office, and she stood up, her body feeling agitated at being confronted with the Dedicated. "You asked to see me Keeper?" He asked, ignoring Nani like she wasn't bonded to him. Her arms crossed over her chest and stood next to Jaryd's desk, her body near vibrating in her anger. He would feel that anger, and a sharp glance at her was all he did as indication and recognition of her.

Jaryd
Jaryd remained still throughout Nani’s story, but as the details came out, a storm of outrage grew within him. He had never enjoyed Calder’s company, and now… this. He held up his hand to pause the Gaidar’s story, and sent his attendant to fetch the ornery Dedicated. As Nani spoke of her time of grief, he pulled Watari from her sheathe, and began to flip the knife idly in his fingers, faster and faster. Kaia gave him a sharp look, and the Keeper returned her gaze levelly. I won’t hurt him. Much.

The door opened as Nani finished her story, and the soldier walked in, followed quickly by a red-bearded man in black. Calder swept the room with distracted brown eyes, then settled on Jaryd, giving the Red a jerky bow. “You asked to see me, Keeper?” So cool, so collected, and yet with Nani present there was no way the man did not know why he had been summoned. Jaryd stared at him in silence for long moments.

“I am told that you hold Nani Hatherton’s bond, and have refused to release her,” he said finally, flipping his knife around his fingers one more time so the handle thumped solidly against his palm.

Calder’s eyes widened a little, but that placid expression remained as he spread his hands. “I saved her life,” he said, his tone smooth as silk. “I was but a soldier, I didn’t know-“ Jaryd cut him off with a sharp gesture

“No one in this room has time for any of that, Dedicated,” the Keeper said coldly. “The penalty for someone who bonds before they are of appropriate rank is severe enough. Add on the consequences for a forced bond and refusal to remove it upon request, and you are looking at a lifetime of hurt.” He had buffered Katrie, but Katrie had shown remorse.

Calder went very still; in the silence that took over the room, the click as Jaryd shoved Watari back into her sheathe rang like a bell. “I wasn’t lying. I don’t know how to remove the bond, Asha’man,” the Tairen said finally, his words sounding strangled and distant. Jaryd arched an eyebrow. He supposed it was possible; Katrie had not known either, after all.

“If you value your skin and your ability to channel, you will do exactly as I say,” Jaryd said, his voice still chilly and distant. He spoke then, describing exactly what Calder needed to do. The risk of harming Nani was too great to explain how to release the bond, but the transfer was simple enough.

Three times before, Jaryd Kosari had felt a presence other than his own in his mind. As he felt Calder weave flows of Spirit, the Red closed his eyes and braced himself. As the flows settled around him, Nani’s presence blossomed in his mind as well, and the Gaidar straightened, violet eyes going wide in shock. The Dedicated stumbled back, touching his head, face contorting. Jaryd reflexively reached for saidin, but Calder simply slouched forward, head in his hands.

“If you will give me a moment to examine the bond I will release you, Nani Gaidar,” Jaryd said, once he had regained his equilibrium. Having two bonds, and both sitting so near… amusement filtered through his bond with Kaia, and he glanced at her. Emerald eyes swept from his face to Ravak, more telling than any words. That is what I feel every day, that glance said.

Shaking his head, the Asha’man began to feel along the bond with Spirit. Soon enough, Nani would be free and it would be time to deal with Calder bloody Selm.
