| Avyra heard him leave, wondering who he could possibly know that could help her out of this. Maybe an Accepted. She waited, then looked up when she heard the leaves rustle, branches parting to reveal a an Asha'man from the Red Ajah below. Was that his help? Then she saw the channeler holding Danos in his bonds, and realized they probably weren't in a good position. She was ready to bolt further up the tree when sudden whisps of air wrapped around her, lifting her from the branch. She knew it was futile to fight, so she fell limp until her feet touched the ground. "Avyra Moeryr," Avyra replied, her voice level. "It was my idea, Asha'man. Don't punish Danos." |

Welcome to the Gardens: one of the most tranquil areas of the Tower Grounds. Birds sing in the trees which line the wide paths between beautiful flower beds and serene lakes. There are benches to sit and listen to the waterfall, and there is neatly trimmed grass to lie on and rest. Novices and Soldiers as well as Warders in Training can be seen, sweeping the stone paths as Accepted and Dedicated study from books and relax under leafy trees.

They stumbled over each other to introduce themselves. A Drin'far'ji and a novice. Danos at least had the grace to look abashed. The novice defended her companion, but she seemed more concerned about getting caught than the damage she had done, and whatever she was wearing, it was not the novice uniform.
Jaryd tilted his head to the side, giving them both a quizzical look, then focused his attention on Avyra. "Child. Novices are expected to dress a certain way and behave with a certain level of maturity. Your days are kept busy with classes and chores, so I can only assume that you are not only out of uniform and breaking fragile trees, but also shirking either chores or classes. I believe a trip to Mirin Sedai is in order- right now. Come along." He waved for her to precede him on the path back toward the Tower, then gestured for Danos to join him as well.
"As for you, Danos. You are Drin'far'ji, and as such you are sworn to represent and protect the safety, honor, and image of the Grey Tower and its occupants. Although I acknowledge that you were trying to keep this child safe during her ill-advised climb, I am surprised at how much free time you have to wander the Gardens. You and I will be paying a visit to Ravak Gaidin once Avyra is squared away so he can find you something more productive to do."
He felt old. So old. He rubbed a hand through his curly hair as he walked, and thought of frogs.

Danos
Danos was embarrassed to have been caught doing something that could potentially harm the oasis he stood in. He had meant nothing beside a little mischief, and aiding a new found friend.
When Jaryd dressed him down for idleness though, Danos had to grit his teeth to prevent from retorting in reply. He had never shirked a duty since arriving at the Grey Tower, indeed he had often taken harder labour than needed to prove his worth and build his strength. He felt a sting of pride that any Ashaman would feel so entitled to remark on his efforts.
Breathing slowly, he bowed and said through clenched teeth, "Of course Keeper, that is your decision and I will complete my penance for the harm we could have inflicted here."

Jaryd quirked a curious eye at the boy. "Self restraint is a skill few enough of your rank possess," he commented, his approval clear and unfeigned. "I'll be sure to mention it to Ravak Gaidin when we meet with him." In truth, he was not convinced the Drin'far'ji truly deserved a penance for his part in the mischief that had just occurred. The intent was more to keep him separated from Avyra than to punish him, and he would convey that to Ravak privately. The rest was up to the Master of Training.
He looked at Avyra, who did not look excited at the prospect of her upcoming penance, and had stopped short in the path to look at him. "I'm waiting," he said mildly. The novice walked forward, and the two men followed in silence.

OOC: Oy. That is possibly the shortest post I have ever written for Jaryd. That feels funny. Avyra and Mirin are handling their penance already, so you can make your own post reporting to Ravak. No real need for me to post in it.
