The harsh tirade had been expected. Becoming an Accepted had done wonders for the brewer’s daughter. When first they’d met, it had been as Novice and Dedicated. Their rank separated them in the way that children and adults held each other at arm’s length. Rough of tongue, the average country girl was overlooked as she spent days tending the Garden, as was her wont. Even then Valadin had sensed an imperturbable fortitude in her for all she claimed to be simple. Looking back on the days when his every utterance was law to Bee, he pondered if they would be missed.
The answering rebuke he’d been readying died on his tongue as he noted the glower and firm set of Bee’s shoulders. Despite more than two heads separating them in height he struggled to meet her eyes. Finally he muttered a simple, though begrudged, “As you wish.”
Not wanting to see the satisfaction in the girl’s face he stepped around her and began studying the fields of charred, disheveled earth. Nothing green grew in the Channeling Yards. Years of Soldiers and Dedicated honing their powers had likely flensed the land of any fertility long ago. For Valadin who much enjoyed nature and the gifts that the Creator had bestowed upon her it was a somewhat saddening scene.
“How’d ya manage to get all them pebbles into the air like that?” he asked, looking over his shoulder without turning. “Thought women were ‘pose to have little talent for Weaving Earth.”
Saidin still shimmered in a haze of might. If he closed his eyes, Valadin was certain he’d be able to see the cloud of light surrounding him. The sheer power roiling in his gut was enough to drive anyone made. Only the Void stood between that deluge and reason. “I figure if we can manage to get a big enough stone outta the ground then we’d be able to practice smashin’ like I seen a few lads from the Black Tower done.”
There was little doubt that Bee would manage it. Her strength in Flows of Earth was evident. It was he that needed to become stronger. And I will. Have to if I wanna help her. “Well? What say you?”

OOC: Hey there. I know you and Kiellan’s thread has gone pretty far, but I did want to finish this thread. If you wanted to end it early that’s fine, but I did want to go all the way with it.
