Della stared at the book. "Yes... Adam Toren." was all she could say as she looked at the list. But he was never found. Why would her father's name be in this book? She knew her last name wasn't as common as many. But could it be possible that there was other Torens out there? But the time frame fit. From what her mother had told her, their love was a whirlwind, like a quick burning flame. He was there, they got married, and than he was gone before she was even born. She always used that word; gone. Never that he passed away, just that he was gone.
Della started hyperventilating. This was just too much. The room began to spin and she dropped the book. Before she sagged to the floor and sat down hard. "Does it say why he left?"
She knew it was a long shot, but maybe, just maybe it was there. She kept trying to breath and calm down. She knew she must look foolish, sitting on the floor and breathing like a mutt.
OOC: her father basically left the Tower because a fellow soldier made attempts on his life.

The book thudded against the floor, and Rhyka stepped back in surprise as Della seemed to collapse in on herself. “Are you alright?” She asked, uselessly. Rhyka stared at her, unsure what to do. Della looked a little sick, but surprise was not an illness that could be treated. For lack of anything else to do, Rhyka bent to pick up the book. She dusted off the cover with one hand, all the while keeping her eyes on the other novice. If Della had some sort of panic attack, she would simply run to find a Brown. The girl was breathing hard, but she didn’t look to be in danger of passing out.
“Why he left?” Rhyka repeated, her brow furrowed. Her attention was easily diverted back to the book; she flipped quickly through the pages, once more hunting for the list of runaways. She found the page easily enough, and read over the related passage with growing skepticism. “Whoever entered his name in the book made a note that Adam Toren claimed that another soldier attempted to kill him.” It seemed an unlikely claim, and did not raise Rhyka’s estimation of the man’s character in the least.

Doing her best to calm herself down, Della began to take deeper breathes. It felt like she was trying to breathe in water with how thick the air was. Slowly it became easier to regain control of her body. She hdnt felt that way in a long time. Even when she was younger, she id her best to keep a tight rein on her characer and exterior. Training ffrom a young age for a path she never knew she was destinated to take.
"Does it say anything else?" Della asked, her voice betraying the slight shake that lingered in her body. She inwardly groaned. Why would someone want to kill her father? Was he a bad man? Did he have any faults to him thatt could be passed down to her? She wondered, was her channeling a resault of her lineage? "Is there any other books you think we could reference?"
OOC: Sorry for the length of time it took me to reply.
