He blinked at her. A thief? And she admitted this so easily? Where he came from, even a reformed thief would have been more...conservative with that information. Then again, what could he do? Arrest her. He snorted at the very thought and mentally shook his head. Instead, he nodded to her. “I understand the need for quick reflexes.” he said. “I grew up in a market, helping my father and brothers sell bolts of cloth and carpet. You get used to ducking and diving pretty quickly.” Honestly, that had helped him on the ship, too. He thought about how strange this was, he a former merchant, she a former thief. In another life, they would *not* have been speaking so easily to one another.

Focusing back on the now, he gave her another nod and stood at attention. He had tried to ‘sheath’ his practice dagger in his belt. Of course, there was no sheath there, and so instead he held it loosely in one hand. “Yes, Gaidin.” He told her seriously. “I do look forward to practicing with you again, if we have the chance.” He bowed his head and shoulders to her, keeping eye contact as he had been taught here. Now *that* had been a hard lesson.

He meant what he said, however. Over the next couple of weeks he was found in the practice yards even when he didn’t have to be, seeking out opponents. Luckily, that was not that hard. Dagger was considered a ‘basic’ weapon, meaning a lot of people had at least a little experience with it, so he could get a partner fairly quickly. He practice what she had taught him quite a bit. He took spars, too, but not as often until he had worked out how to do this without really having to think about it. When he started to become comfortable with it, he even switched to his left hand, leaving his right hand empty. He figured if he wanted to use both hands when fighting, they should both be equally as strong as the other, whether he had one or two daggers. That was harder, as he was predominantly right handed in most things, and took even longer to stop his right hand from getting into the way. Still, he pushed on, switching it up, keeping both hands used to a single dagger before he felt comfortable enough to go back to the way he had been before. He found it hard, but good work, keeping him occupied during chores, and tired when he went to bed at night. Each time he did he was surprised by just how...content he felt here. He missed his family, true...but that was really all. This place, as each day passed, began to feel more and more like....home.

OOC: You're good. <3 Submit the form for 2 points in Dagger and we'll get it processed. Send me a quick nudge when you have, just in case the form is being silly.
