"Ready."

The Blue Sister nodded once and then turned toward the place where the slash of silver would appear. Bryn was unable to see or feel the process, but he still had the sense of it occurring from what Tia was able to see. Then he was able to see the Gateway open, revealing a field about half an hour away from the city.

Bryn rode through first, of course, but there was no trouble to be found on the other side. He searched the immediate area quickly but thoroughly, before his Aes Sedai came through after the designated delay.

"It looks clear," he said to her with a smile as he sheathed his sword again. "It won't be too long of a ride to get to the city, and then we can head straight to my apartment there to put our things. If you want to dine out in the city tonight, though, we can do that. There are some lovely eateries and taverns."

It was always a weird sensation feeling the bond go from ‘near’ to ‘far’ in a heartbeat. Tia waited for the count she and Bryn agreed upon before she stepped through. Given there’d been no significant change in what she felt over the bond, she assumed all was well, and Bryn confirmed as much as she stepped through and came to stand by his side.

Tia tilted her head and smiled warmly at him, “Lead the way, my Gaidin. The idea of a night out for dinner sounds lovely. . .so long as we actually make it out of your apartment.” Her warm smile turned to an almost wicked smirk as she wiggled her brows. She nodded towards the town, “Shall we?”

"I suppose we'll see," Bryn agreed with a chuckle.

The horses fell in side by side as the pair moved away from the clearing the Gateway had put them into onward toward a well-worn road that would take them onto the city where he had grown up. A thin layer of trepidation began to sink in beneath the feelings of pleasure to be here with her and then general anticipation.

He began to fill in the quiet a bit and give himself less time for thought, "Assuming we do get ourselves out of the apartment, is there anything in particular that you would like to see? It's not the biggest of cities, but it still offers a decent selection of all that the larger cities do in terms of activity and culture."

Tia looked to Bryn and smiled warmly, “I want to see the places that mean the most to you. I want to see your home through your eyes. Show me what you feel is most precious to you, what you think everyone who visits should experience.” Looking towards the horizon, she added, “Show me the places you’ve told me about in your stories.”

The horses walked along at a steady pace, and Tia felt her heart seemingly swell with affection, both of what she felt for Bryn, and what she felt from him, as well. The feedback through the bond fascinated her, and there were times it was nearly euphoric. She smirked again, “Perhaps. . .after dinner, there could be dancing?”

Bryn flashed her a warm smile, as that warmth filled him and seemed to radiate in the small space between them. He couldn't think of anyone in his life who had wanted to...know him so much, or know all the things that were important to him. Oh, how much he missed his mother now. She would have loved Tia. She always wanted to see him married and happy.

Not that we're married, his mind corrected him. But a bond is close. Perhaps more than?

Although that was a kernel of thought likely to settle in the back of his mind, not to be shook off, for a time to come. Aloud, however, he replied to her question. "Of course," he said easily. "That is easy to arrange in this city, and I would love to dance with you again. After all, it hearkens back to how we met. And that is a pleasant thing."

Tia’s smirk turned into a wide grin, “It is definitely a pleasant thing.” She couldn’t help but stare at him as the pair of them continued on their way. Perhaps twenty minutes later, the pair arrived at the city gates and were sent on their way without any issue. Bryn led the way through the streets before taking a turn down a road with large trees lining both sides and large walls hiding the houses behind them.

Bryn stopped at one of the corner lots, and a man looked out from the gates. Nothing was said, so Tia assumed he must have recognised Bryn, as the gates opened seconds later. She followed her Gaidin through the gates, and up the path to the stables, where two stable-hands came out and held their mounts as they dismounted.

Tia looked to Bryn, her brows up showing her surprise, “This. . .is yours?”

"It is now, yes," Brynmor replied with an almost sheepish, almost embarrassed smile. The stable-hands escorted the horses away, and the Gaidin gestured for his Aes Sedai to walk with him up to the moderately-sized but elegantly-appointed home. "It was my mother's originally, and it was given to her by my father as a place...well, as a place to keep her. Us."

He walked a few more steps and cast that smile back at her, though this time it was a little sad. "As I've mentioned, my father was a minor lord of the country who lived in the city here. My mother was his mistress. He took care of her, although I wouldn't have called him an attentive father. He saw that I didn't starve or freeze. That was about it."

Moving to Bryn’s side, Tia laced her fingers through his, giving his hand a squeeze, “I can’t imagine what that was like for you. It would be easy for me to say at least he provided a place for your mother, but that seems shallow.” She offered him a warm smile as she tilted her head, “I am thankful you wish to show it to me, and share it with me.”

Tia looked back to the house and thought back to the modest home she’d grown up in before her parents moved back to the Tower. “If we ever make it to Saldea, I will take you to the village I lived in before my family moved to the Tower. This is almost palatial in comparison.” She looked back to her Gaidin, “How about that tour?” An evil part of her nearly suggested he just skip to the bedroom.

Even if she didn't say anything, he could sense the little surge of wickedness over the bond. It had the emotional feeling of mischief, and he looked at her with a half-smile and slightly arched brow. Her blue eyes just looked back at him, and it made him chuckle. He gave her hand a small squeeze before leading her into the house.

It was a corner lot, with a white stone-paved courtyard around it on the two sides that faced the street. A small stable sat next to the house, connected by a small covered walkway, while the house itself rose in three stories worth of modest grandeur. Everything was elegantly appointed, but not ostentatious.

Bryn led her inside, showing her the first floor with the kitchen, the formal receiving room, and then three rooms to the back where the year-round servants lived. The next story held the dining room, the study, and a small personal library alongside one guest suite. While the top floor held the master suite, and nothing else.

"And here is the room where I imagine us spending most of our time," he said with a smirk as he led her into the large bedroom with its adjoining study and sitting room.

As Bryn showed her around, Tia found herself trying to imagine him as a young boy growing up here, or even a young man before finding his way to the Tower. She knew his life prior to the Tower hadn’t been an easy one, but he’d survived and went on to become a Gaidin. Her Gaidin.

When they reached the top floor, and Tia realized that the entire floor was the master suite, she couldn’t help but look on in awe. The suite was a bit bigger than the quarters they shared in the Tower, but not by much. While not overly-luxurious, the suite was well appointed and more than comfortable.

Tia turned to face Bryn, taking both of his hands in hers, “Your home is beautiful, Bryn. It means a great deal you wished to share this with me.” She gave him a warm smile as she squeezed his hands.
